Dr. Angel is currently pursuing a Doctorate in Acupuncture to further enrich her knowledge in Eastern medicine, complementing her extensive background in this field. She earned her MD degree as a Surgeon and Physician in Colombia, South America, in 1997, and her unwavering passion has always been to provide holistic care for her patients.

During her practice in Colombia, she effectively treated a wide range of conditions using Western medicine. However, her commitment to comprehensive patient care led her to explore alternative treatments beyond Allopathic Medicine. This curiosity led her to delve into the world of Traditional Chinese Medicine, the oldest medicine system globally, which she enthusiastically embraced.

Through her studies in Eastern medicine, Dr. Angel discovered the remarkable benefits it offers to patients, particularly the effectiveness of Traditional Chinese Medicine in treating a variety of health conditions. Her education at the National University of Health Sciences exposed her to cases where Eastern and Western medicine needed to be integrated for the best treatment outcomes.

As part of her educational journey, she had the invaluable opportunity to intern at Cook County Hospital in Chicago, IL, where she gained hands-on experience in various acupuncture treatments for pain management. Dr. Angel’s commitment to excellence is reflected in her graduation with top honors as Summa Cum Laude.

Today, Dr. Angel collaborates closely with Western doctors who refer cases to her, recognizing the tremendous value of incorporating Eastern medicine into patient care. She is an Illinois Board Certified Licensed Acupuncturist, holds a Diploma in Oriental Medicine, and possesses an ECFMG certificate, signifying her readiness to contribute to U.S. residency and fellowship programs accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME). Additionally, she is Board-Certified by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM), making her a highly qualified practitioner dedicated to delivering the highest standard of care to her patients in Illinois.
